Harold started to get macular degeneration, forcing the sale of the RV park and a move to a nearby city, Fortuna. Harold and Mary purchased a new home in a clean subdivision. Harold lost all his central vision, but he continued to be healthy in all other respects, walking one or more miles per day.
Harold started using a cane at this time, later painting it white.
Here is a good picture of the good days in Fortuna, apparently at Christmas.
Harold in this timeframe, but actually sitting in the front of Anita's house in Paradise.
Another picture from Anita's house. Harold could not hear the piano, so he really did not play it. This is probably a staged picture, but it looks great.
